A shocking turn of events has happened in the ongoing Dhaka Premier League. The Bangladeshi star Shakib Al Hasan has been running in the news since yesterday. The main reason behind this was his anger issue which went out of control during the game. The situation happened not once but twice as he couldn’t control his furious anger.
The incident occurred when the left arm spinner was bowling the fifth over. The game was between Mohammedan Sporting Club and Abahani Limited. Umpire refused the appeal when M Rahim tried to defend the ball. The LBW appeal went in vain as umpire declared the batsman as not out. Shakib couldn’t control his anger watching this and immediately kicked the stumps.
The anger came out for the second time too as Shakib came from his Fielding position to the non strikers end. He uprooted all the 3 stumps and threw them on the pitch. This scenario has raised lots of eyebrows on the cricketer.
Cricket is termed as the Gentlemen’s game which certainly didn’t remain gentle in Dhaka Premier League. Considering this incident, Australia’s women cricketer Lisa Sthalekar has pointed her view on this.
She took to her Twitter handle to express her feelings. She stated, “I hope young cricketers especially in Bangladesh don’t follow this terrible example! First a ban from all cricket (2 years, with one year suspended), now this poor behaviour. Do we really need players like this in our game? Love to know your thoughts.”
Shakib Al Hasan then apologized for the incident
The Bangladeshi star then went on to social media and expressed his apologies. He deeply felt sorry for this incident as he ruined the match for his fans and followers. However, so far any action has not been taken on this. It would be a serious concern if the Bangladesh Cricket Board decides to impose some ban on him.
