“Is he indirectly saying don’t expect too much from me in IPL 2023?” – Twitter reacts after Cameron Green said he didn’t do much to earn that in the IPL auction

A few days ago, Australian international Cameron Green hogged the limelight after he became the second most expensive player in the history of the IPL auction after Sam Curran.

The young all-rounder who doesn’t have prior experience in the Indian Premier League was roped in by Mumbai Indians for a record price of INR 17.50 crore from his base price of INR 2 crore.

The youngster who is en route to becoming the three-dimensional utility player is said to be a perfect replacement for Kieron Pollard as the latter had earlier retired from all forms of the game.

Kieron Pollard will ply his trade as the batting coach of Mumbai Indians and he will be looking forward to sharing his knowledge with Cameron Green to bring the best out of the youngster in the forthcoming season of the IPL.

Obviously, the expectations would be so high, since he was picked for a sky-rocketing fee at the IPL 2023 mini-auction in Kochi on December 23. Meanwhile, Cameron Green made a bold statement after being picked up for a massive price at the auction.

Earlier, he said he was literally pinching himself after he was sold to Mumbai Indians for INR 17.50 crore. Now, he confessed that he didn’t do much to earn that much money in the auction.

He further added that it doesn’t really change who he actually is. Green who was picked for a huge price didn’t do much in the shortest format of the game but there is always room for improvement.

He is also considered the next big thing in Australian cricket and there is plenty of time and years left ahead of him to mature and grow on to become one of the best all-rounders in the world.
