“One of the craziest run chases in IPL history” – Twitter erupts after Delhi Capitals thump Punjab Kings by 15 runs in IPL 2023

Punjab Kings locked horns with Delhi Capitals in Dharamshala cricket stadium in the just-concluded fixture. Both teams entertained the fans ever so well and the game was stretched to the last over.

While we thought that Delhi Capitals won the game after Liam Livingstone missed the first ball bowled by Ishant Sharma, Liam Livingstone smacked a six followed by a four.

The England international went on to smack a six in the third ball, which turned out to be a no-ball since it was slightly above the waist height and thus reducing the equation to 18 runs off the 3 balls, which made it mathematically possible.

However, Liam Livingstone failed to convert the full toss delivery to a six off Ishant Sharma as he missed it completely. Punjab Kings had no chance whatsoever to win the game as they ended up losing the match by 15 runs.

Batting first, the Delhi-based franchise posted a competitive total of 213/2 in their designated quota of 20 overs. Rile Rossuow was the pick of the batters for DC as he chipped in with an unbeaten 82 off 37 balls.

He composed his innings with the help of six fours and six hits over the fence whereas Prithvi Shaw scored 54 off 38 balls (7 fours and a six). In response, Liam Livingstone was the pick of the batters for Punjab Kings in the run-chase.

As it turned out, he was unable to guide the team to a win despite his gritty 94 off 48 (5 fours and 9 sixes).
