As per reports, Sunrisers Hyderabad will release Kane Williamson before IPL 2023. This will be mainly because of his performance in the last season and his current form. If Kane leaves SRH, the franchise has to find another skipper and also a cricketer who can play in the top order. On that note, here, we take a look at three players Sunrisers Hyderabad can target to replace Kane Williamson in IPL 2023 Mini Auctions.
1) Ben Stokes
Ben Stokes, if available, will be a hot cake at the IPL 2023 Auctions. The English all-rounder will reportedly sign up for the next edition of IPL. By releasing Kane, SRH will unlock a lot of funds, which may be put into use for hiring Ben Stokes.
In Ben Stokes, SRH can get a batter who can either open the innings or play at No.3. While his leadership qualities are well-known, the franchise will also get a player who can give a few overs with the ball. This will help the balance of the squad and the franchise can afford to play an extra batter at No.7. Therefore, he will be one of the targets for the team.
2) Rilee Rossouw

Rilee Rossouw is one of the players Sunrisers Hyderabad can target to replace Kane Williamson in IPL 2023 Mini Auctions. Rahul Tripathi played at No.3 for SRH in IPL 2022. It was not a role that he is used to playing. If Kane is released, Rahul can open the innings along with Abhishek Sharma.
Rilee Rossouw has been exceptional for South Africa at No.3 in recent months. With him at No.3, the franchise will have an attacking batter who can take on the pace enforcers in the middle overs. The likes of Aiden Markram will also benefit by playing alongside Rilee.
3) Mayank Agarwal (if released by Punjab Kings)
Mayank Agarwal will reportedly be released by Punjab Kings. If that happens, SRH must go for the Karnataka opener as the like-to-like replacement for Kane Williamson.
With Mayank opening, the team can afford an extra foreign batter in the middle order. Hence, the likes of Glenn Phillips could feature, which would further improve the batting strength. Of course, Mayank can also be considered for captaincy.
