“India don’t think us as underdogs and this is…” Bangladesh captain Litton Das makes a big statement on the Indian team

As we all know, Bangladesh is hosting India for a 3-match test series. The first match is being played currently at the Sher-e-Bangla stadium and the other two matches will also be played at the same stadium. This is the second of many other ODI series that India will be playing in the next few months to prepare for the 2023 ODI World Cup that kicks off in a few months’ time in India. Therefore, this series helps both Bangladesh and India for the upcoming major ICC tournament.

Bangladesh are known for their tricky pitches and India have been fooled by them on several occasions previously. Moreover, Bangladesh is an able team. The last time the two sides faced each other, i.e, in the T20 World Cup 2022, Bangladesh almost defeated India. In fact, had it not been for the rain and the DLS rule, Bangladesh would have emerged victorious over India.

Ahead of this, Indian captain Rohit Sharma was all praises for the Bangladeshi team and their players. He said that they are a strong team and India better not take them lightly. In response, Bangladesh’s Liton Das said that he was overwhelmed to know that India did not consider them as underdogs. “India don’t think us as underdogs and that is a big thing”, he said.

In today’s match, Bangladesh have had the upper hand so far. India, who are batting first, underperformed in the powerplay. The Bangladeshi bowlers were able to pile up India’s top order including Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan and that in itself is a very big achievement.

Bangladesh are indeed the favorites to win this match. It is their home turf after all and if they can keep up their momentum, it will definitely be an easy win for them.

India, on the other hand, will need either Shreyas Iyer or KL Rahul to step up in the match. Otherwise, the match will keep on slipping out of their hands.
