Suryakumar Yadav came under fire for his hat-trick of golden ducks which he registered in the just-concluded ODI series against the Australian cricket team. The star batter literally failed to mark his presence count in all three ODIs.
In fact, Shreyas Iyer opted out of the Australia ODIs due to an injury and as a result, the No.4 spot was vacant. The Indian team management thought it is best to give Suryakumar Yadav a chance to showcase his mettle.
He came out to bat at No.4 in the first and second ODI. However, he fell prey to Mitchell Starc’s delivery as he was dismissed leg before wicket in the first two ODIs. During the third ODI, he came to bat a bit lower down the pecking order at No.7, a decision that was taken by the Indian team management.
However, it became even more challenging for him and he was once dismissed for a golden duck. Ashton Agar dismissed him by making a mess of the batter’s off-stump. Thus, Suryakumar Yadav became the first Indian batter in the history of ODIs to register three golden ducks in a row.
Ajay Jadeja slams Indian team management for Suryakumar Yadav’s failure in Australia ODIs
Former Indian batter, Ajay Jadeja launched a scathing attack on the Indian team’s management for Suryakumar Yadav’s utter failure in the three ODIs against Australia.
While speaking to Cricbuzz, Ajay Jadeja said some people thought Suryakumar shouldn’t play since he is a T20 material. However, the team management did back the batsman.
According to the former Indian batter, the Indian team management also had a big doubt about Suryakumar’s ability and it was clearly visible in their decision.
Ajay Jadeja also added that a player can regain form only if he is given more deliveries to play. He further told the Indian team management to try not to save anyone since that might sabotage the reputation of the board.
