“If I can trouble Virat and Rohit in nets, I know I can trouble anyone,” Tamil Nadu spinner Sai Kishore thinks he is ready for international cricket

Sai Kishore had played a few matches for Gujarat Titans in the latter half of the previous IPL and had looked very impressive

The Tamil Nadu left-arm spinner Sai Kishore, who won the IPL title with Gujarat Titans earlier this year, feels that he is now ready to play international cricket whenever he gets his opportunity.

Sai Kishore has been with the Indian team as a net bowler many a time in the last couple of years and he has had the opportunity to bowl to some leading Indian batsmen in the nets. The southpaw seemed very impressive playing for Gujarat Titans in the latter half of the last IPL as well.

According to Sai Kishore, he has been able to pose some challenges to the Indian batting stalwarts in the nets and he thinks if he is able to trouble them, he can trouble any batsman in world cricket because nothing is more challenging than bowling to the likes of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.

No direct communication from selectors, but I know I am in frame: Sai Kishore

Sai was recently speaking in an exclusive interview with Sportskeeda and when he was asked if he has received any kind of communication from the Indian selectors or the Indian team management about when he will get the opportunity to make his debut for India, the 25-year-old said that no direct communication has been made as such, but he knows that he is not too far away from India selection and he is keeping himself ready.

While Sai Kishore hasn’t had any opportunity to showcase his batting prowess in the IPL yet, he has shown in domestic cricket, while playing for Tamil Nadu, that he can also be a very decent batsman down the order, apart from being a quality left-arm spinner.

When a few members of the second-string Indian T20I squad had tested COVID positive on the Sri Lanka tour last year, Sai was in line to make his India debut as he was there on the tour as a net bowler, but he eventually didn’t get into the XI.

I write a bit on cricket and I am more interested in technical and tactical side of the game, rather than bravado.
