‘I really hope he doesn’t make a return against Pakistan’-Wasim Akram is hoping that Virat Kohli does not get back to form against Pakistan

Wasim Akram, a legendary cricket player from Pakistan, believes that Babar Azam and the rest of his team need to be aware of Virat Kohli when they play India in the Asia Cup on August 28.

In the shortest version of the game, Kohli has amassed 311 runs in only seven matches, giving him an incredible 77.75 batting average versus Pakistan.

Wasim Akram feels that the former Indian captain is one of the finest batters the game has ever seen and questioned people who gave him a hard time on social media owing to his bad form. Akram believes that the former Indian captain is one of the best batters the game has ever seen.

What did Wasim Akram say about Virat Kohli?

Here is what the renowned left-arm bowler had to say about Virat Kohli while he was speaking at a press conference that was hosted by Star Sports:

“Virat Kohli has been the target of criticism from Indian fans in the press and on social media for the last year, which is something that I do not believe is warranted. Even at the young age of 33, he is already considered one of the greatest players of all time, not only in the contemporary period. In each of the three forms, he maintains an average of above 50. Although I really hope he doesn’t make a return against Pakistan (laughs), he is a fantastic player and will make a very successful comeback.”

Wasim Akram also provided some insight into the parallels that may be seen between current players Babar and Kohli. The following is what the 56-year-old had to say about whom he believes is the superior batter:

“It is natural to draw comparisons (between Babar and Kohli). The fact that Babar’s technique is so good is one of the primary reasons for his consistent high performance across all forms. He is a youthful skipper who is picking things up fast and is always eager for more runs. I do not believe that it is appropriate to make parallels to Virat Kohli at this point. But he is doing everything correctly to become one of the greatest of our time.”
