Predicting India’s strongest playing 11 for the Rajkot Test against England

India will take on England in the third Test of the ongoing series in Rajkot. The game will start on February 15th. Recently, BCCI announced the squad for this game. On that note, here, we take a look at the predicted India’s strongest playing 11 for the Rajkot Test against England.

Openers: Rohit Sharma (C) and Yashasvi Jaiswal

It will be the same opening combination for the predicted India’s strongest playing 11 for the Rajkot Test against England. This has been the only area in the squad in which there have not been many changes. While Yashasvi Jaiswal has been the best batter for India, Rohit is the skipper of the side. It is high time that Rohit steps up and delivers. He has had a mediocre campaign so far and this could affect the side.

Middle-Order: Shubman Gill, KL Rahul*, Rajat Patidar and KS Bharat (WK)

Shubman Gill scored a century in Vizag and hence, he retains his place. With no Shreyas Iyer and Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar retains his spot in the middle order. KL Rahul’s selection will be based on the fitness clearance. India really needs his experience at No.4. If not, Sarfaraz Khan would make his debut. KS Bharat might get one last chance to perform with the bat.

All-Rounders: Ravindra Jadeja*, R Ashwin and Axar Patel

R Ashwin will lead the spin attack in the predicted India’s strongest playing 11 for the Rajkot Test against England. Like with KL, Jaddu’s availability is also down to his fitness. If he cannot make it, Kuldeep Yadav could retain his place. R Ashwin and Axar will form the heart of the spin attack.

Bowlers: Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj

Jasprit Bumrah is unlikely to be rested while India is likely to stick with its policy of playing two seamers. Mohammed Siraj is likely to make a comeback after being rested for the last encounter in Vizag.
