Why is Rohit Sharma unavailable for the second Test against Bangladesh?

As per the latest update from Cricbuzz, it has been learnt that Rohit Sharma hasn’t completely recovered from the injury. As a result, the veteran Indian cricketer is ruled out of the second and final Test against Bangladesh.

Moreover, the Indian team management doesn’t want their main player to take risks ahead of the hectic schedule in 2023 as India will have to play plenty of games in the next calendar year.

India will host Sri Lanka for three T20Is followed by three ODIs (January 3 to 15) and after that, India will host New Zealand for three ODIs followed by three T20Is (January 18 to February 1).

After that, India will host Australia for four-match Test series (February 9 to March 13) followed by a three-match ODI series (March 17 to 22).

If reports doing the rounds are to be believed, Rohit Sharma will be back in action for the home series against Sri Lanka, starting on January 3.
