Wasim Akram says Saleem Malik treated him like servant by ordering him to clean his clothes and boots

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s bowling great Wasim Akram made a shocking revelation about Saleem Malik. He added that Saleem Malik treated him like servant in his initial days.

The former Pakistani cricketer exposed the other side of Saleem Malik in his autobiography ‘Sultan: A Memoir’, describing Saleem’s inhuman behaviour towards him in the initial days of his cricketing career.

Akram said Saleem ordered him to clean his clothes and boots. For the unversed, Wasim Akram played as many as 12 Tests and 34 ODI matches under the captaincy of Saleem Malik.

Wasim Akram made his international debut for the Pakistan cricket team in 1984, just two years after Saleem Malik. The Lahore-born added that Saleem used to take advantage of Akram’s junior status by treating him as a slave.

In addition, he said that he was totally annoyed when some of the younger team members in Ramiz, Tahir, Mohsin, Shoaib Mohammad invited Saleem Malik to nightclubs.

On the other side of the coin, Saleem Malik dropped a hint that Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis were jealous of him as they both wanted to become the Pakistan cricket team skipper.
