“He played a wide range of shots and kept rotating the strike” : Sunil Gavaskar Showered Praises On This Mumbai Indians Batter.

Former Indian opener Sunil Gavaskar has shown his appreciation towards the young southpaw batter of Mumbai Indians, ‘Tilak Verma‘. Tilak who is debuting this season from the side of Mumbai has prevailed his batting essence everywhere. He has made 376-runs in the 13 games with a fabulous average of 37.6. He is beautifully carving the middle muddle of MI along with Suryakumar Yadav after the departure of Hardik Pandya from the side. In the last match against Sunrisers Hyderabad he, unfortunately, got out with the hands of Umran Malik, but before that, he was just thriving on the brows of everyone.

“He played a wide range of shots and kept rotating the strike.

Thus while talking with Star Sports, Sunil Gavaskar praises his batting technique and temperament about the game. He said, “He played a wide range of shots and kept rotating the strike. This shows that he has a good cricketing head on his shoulders, and I think that’s important. Once you have that good cricketing brain, you will be able to lift yourself when things are not going your way. You can analyze yourself and get back to scoring runs”.

Later he included, “He’s got the basics right. Technically, he’s right. He gets right behind the line of the ball. He’s got a straight bat, and while defending on the front foot his bat is close to the pad. So, all his basics are right. With all the right basics you’ve got to marry the temperament and that marriage we have seen is very good at the moment. I hope that he carries on”.

Further, he talked about the forecast of the skipper Sharma about him, “Rohit Sharma rightly mentioned that he could be an all-format player for India. So now it’s up to him to work that little bit extra, get his fitness going, get a little tighter as far as the technique is concerned, and prove Rohit right”.
