Indian cricketer Washington Sundar is one of the talented prospects in the national cricket team. However, he couldn’t get many opportunities to play for the Indian cricket team owing to stiff competition.
He was named in the squad for the T20I and ODI series against the New Zealand cricket team. He got a chance to feature in the second T20I against the Black Caps but was dismissed for a first-ball duck.
The all-rounder made a stellar rebound in the first ODI wherein he scored a quickfire 37 off 16 balls wherein he scored three fours and three sixes to his name and his knock helped India post 306/7 in 50 overs.
On the other hand, he tried his maximum best with the ball as well. Although he went wicketless, he was the best economical bowler for the Indian cricket team with 4.20.
Washington Sundar has a phenomenal batting average in Tests and ODIs
Meanwhile, the 23-year-old Tamil Nadu-born cricketer made his presence count in the third and final ODI against the New Zealand cricket team at Hagley Oval, Christchurch.
The youngster scored 51 off 64 balls with the help of 5 fours and a six. When India lost plenty of wickets already, Sundar played a sensible brand of cricket to help the team post 219 runs on the board.
The third game was washed out due to rain and the series came to an end in New Zealand’s favour. Meanwhile, netizens have been heaping praise on Washington Sundar for his batting averages in Tests and ODIs.
As far as the Test format is concerned, Washington Sundar has a batting average of 66.25. On the other hand, his ODI batting average is 48.33. Although he has been in and out of the cricketing team due to tough competition, it is worth mentioning here that he has been justifying his selection every time when he has represented the Indian cricket team.

Wont be surprised if Sundar surpasses Jadeja if fit considering the injury issues of Jadeja as well. https://t.co/zrwtolD8jz
