Fans on Twitter took a jibe at KL Rahul despite having a good record in ODIs while batting at No.5 for India. They took a dig at him by saying that he’s a man who top scores in pre-board and monthly tests and fails in the final exams.
KL Rahul averages 58.44 with a 113.6 strike rate in ODI while batting at 5
It’s fair to say that KL Rahul has delivered on almost every occasion when he has got the opportunity in the middle order. Ever since he started batting at No.5, he has provided that solidity to the Indian middle order, which was a massive cause of concern for them for the last few years.
While batting at No.5 in ODIs, Rahul has scored an ample amount of runs and has a staggering average of 58.44 to go with a 113.6 strike rate. He produced another sensational innings in the recently concluded first ODI against Bangladesh.
Rahul was the lone warrior for his side whereas rest of the batters failed to cross the 30-run mark. Batting at No.5, he held one end and made sure that he kept ticking the scorecard. He looked unfazed by what happened at the other end and powered India to a fighting total.

Rahul scored 73 runs in 70 balls, smashing 5 fours and 4 sixes in his innings and batted at the strike rate of 104.29. He was looking set for a big score but eventually fell short of partners in the end. His knock was rated very highly by many fans and pundits as they feel that he played a staggering inning under pressure.

He is a man who top scores in pre-board and monthly test and fails in the final exams. So even with a record equivalent to Don is immaterial, when it comes to KL. https://t.co/eoUuHxKApC

VC of the Indian cricket team should be winning imp/crunch games and abosorb pressure. Remember how dravid under Ganguly , kohili under dhoni or yuvi used to perform as VC. They used win games for india. With KL even him being in team is question.Just playing is not enough

All against small teams

Rahul as a batter is superb. Only thing is that, he fails to perform during pressure matches. Hence people tend to forget about his calibre. Eg: 2019 ODI World Cup Semi-final.

Rahul needs to be consistent against top teams and performances in must win games…dropped catch yesterday against Bang cost us the game.lost 2nd test in SA when he was captain – lost the momentum and series when leading 1-0. In ODIs in SA under his leadership we lost 0-3 to SA

Stop hyping, hype him when he scores in crucial games in ICC tournaments.

That's very good. But please don't let him do wicket keeping. That is detrimental to even his own batting performance https://t.co/q4tzSczZLE
