“Hats off for his efforts and gameplay”, Twitter reacts as Rohit Sharma almost pulled off the impossible win against Bangladesh

India was struggling in the second ODI against Bangladesh. Captain Rohit Sharma came out to bat to help the team win despite carrying an injury. Here, we take a look at how Twitter reacted as Rohit Sharma almost pulled off the impossible win against Bangladesh.

Rohit Sharma almost pulled off the game against Bangladesh

In the first innings, while fielding, the Indian skipper suffered a problem with his thumb. He was rushed to the hospital for scans. With a target set for 272, it was doubtful if Rohit would come out to open the innings. As expected, it did not happen. Instead, Virat Kohli walked out alongside Shikhar Dhawan. It was not an effective move for India as Virat lost his wicket early. The likes of Shikhar Dhawan and KL Rahul also did not help India’s case.

Shreyas Iyer and Axar Patel stitched a partnership to take India close. It was clear that another batter in the line-up would help them. In this scenario, Rohit Sharma came out with the bat in his hand. This is despite a thumb injury, which has put him in pain. The player did produce a cameo which helped India go close to the target.

Meanwhile, it is high time that Team India addresses the issues in the batting order. Barring Shreyas Iyer and to an extent KL Rahul, none of the other batters have stepped up. Axar Patel’s form is a confidence booster but it needs to be seen if he can continue this form. Bowling all-rounders such as Deepak Chahar and Shardul Thakur also need to contribute consistently.

Twitter reacts to Rohit’s determination

Usually, batters try and gauge the situation to come out to bat if they are injured during a game. However, Rohit showed courage and hence, the fans were impressed with his act. Here is how Twitter reacted to the move by Rohit Sharma:
