“Had to be Poor” – Twitter reacts after ICC rated Rawalpindi pitch as “Below average”

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) were on the receiving end of trolls after they failed to come up with a proper and quality Test wicket for the first Test match between Pakistan and England that took place recently.

The Test opener between both teams took place at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi. When England came out to bat, the batsmen totally felt comfortable on the wicket as they scored runs at the rate of knots.

At one point, it even made us guess that the ODI cricket was being played with the red cherry. Well, the fans in the cricket fraternity lashed out at PCB for failing to prepare a quality Test wicket.

Pakistan’s recklessness to prepare a proper wicket came as a blessing in disguise for the England cricket team as they made use of the chances to better effect and score the most runs in the first innings.

ICC rated Rawalpindi’s pitch as “Below average”

Meanwhile, in the latest development, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has rated Rawalpindi’s pitch as ‘below average’ and netizens couldn’t stop reacting to the statement on social media portals.

Earlier, PCB chairman, Ramiz Raja himself admitted that it was a dull pitch. While speaking to BBC Test Match Special, the former Pakistani commentator also hilariously joked that the only time the Pakistan cricket team did not concede 30 runs in a 5-minute spell was while taking DRS.

Meanwhile, England players approached the game with a lot of intent in the first and second Test match. Rightly so, they won both games including the series by 2-0, with one more game to be played on December 17.

England clinched the Test series opener by 74 runs in Rawalpindi and took the first lead in the series before going to implement the same winning template in the second Test. The visitors won the second Test by 26 runs and successfully won the Test series in Pakistan after 21 years.
