Mankading has been in the news of late. The mode of dismissal has invited a massive debate with many calling it within the spirit of the game whereas some terming it as against the spirit of the game.
MCC recently moved Mankading, which is running out the batter at the non-striker’s end by the bowler if he leaves the crease before the ball is delivered, from Law 41 (Unfair play) to Law 38 (Run out).
Over the years, the Mankading has been in the talks. It recently hogged the headlines when Deepti Sharma effected this mode of dismissal in the WODI against England. Since then many cricket experts and cricketers have argued with each other on the same.
Recently former Indian skipper Sachin Tendulkar gave his opinion on the same. Speaking to Sportstar, he said that if it’s within the rules of the game, then it’s called the Spirit of Cricket
