“Dismissing Virat Kohli not my career highlight…,” Bangladesh spinner, Taijul Islam, comes up with a controversial statement after his heroics

Bangladesh’s left-arm orthodox spinner, Taijul Islam had a good day at the office in the first innings of the first Test match against the Indian national cricket team at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chattogram.

The spinner spun the web at the right time and accounted for key dismissals to his name. Notably, he was the pick of the bowlers for the hosts as he took four wickets and bowled 10 maiden overs.

Taijul Islam provided the much-needed breakthrough by dismissing Shubman Gill for 20 in the 14th over. After that, he went on to trap Virat Kohli for a leg before wicket for just 1 run in the 20th over.

Taijul grew from strength to strength as he went on to make a mess of Cheteshwar Pujara’s stumps. He bowled a tricky delivery and Pujara decided to defend in the first place but the ball turned sharply before hitting the stumps.

Getting rid of Virat Kohli is not my career highlight: Taijul Islam

Dismissing Virat Kohli is the ultimate dream for bowlers because he is the most prized wicket and apparently, it is not much of a big deal for Taijul Islam. He echoed that he has already dismissed Virat Kohli earlier in his career.

As a result, it doesn’t necessarily need to be the highlight of his cricketing career. The left-arm spinner bowled at the right line and length to Virat Kohli who was batting on 1 off 4 deliveries.

As it turned out, the ball spun quickly before going on to hit Virat Kohli on his pads. The former Indian captain consulted with Cheteshwar Pujara before taking the review.

Upon taking the review, the TV replays on the large screen confirmed that the impact was in line and hitting the stumps in the first place. Kohli departed after scoring 1 run. Meanwhile, Team India finished with 404 runs in the first innings. Cheteshwar Pujara and Shreyas Iyer scored 90 and 86 respectively.
