‘I Am Excited To See The Strategies Come Together’-Chris Silverwood Is Hoping For Sri Lanka’s Strong Performance Against Australia In The Test Series

After claiming a historic victory in the one-day international series against Australia, Sri Lanka will take on the Men in Yellow in a two-match test series beginning on June 29. The Sri Lankan cricket squad will have their work cut out for them as they go up against a powerful test side that is presently leading the points chart for the World Test Championship. Chris Silverwood, the coach for Sri Lanka, has spoken about his previous encounters with the Australian cricket team and how he plans to use that knowledge in the forthcoming red-ball series.

Although Australia will be disheartened by their series defeat to the home side, they will be encouraged by the fact that Mitchell Marsh and Steve Smith will be rejoining the test squad. While everything is going on, Mitchell Starc’s participation in the first test is still up in the air. After thrashing England in the Ashes earlier this year and following it up with an impressive series victory in Pakistan, the team captained by Pat Cummins is in fantastic form in red-ball cricket as they head into the Test series against Sri Lanka. Pat Cummins’ men will be heading into the series against Sri Lanka with a 4-0 victory over England in the Ashes.

What did Chris Silverwood say?

Silverwood, who was a member of the English setup for the Ashes earlier this year, has discussed the possibility of using the expertise he gained in the forthcoming series. During the white-ball series, the Australian batsmen had a difficult time facing up against the slower bowlers. If they want to be successful in the test matches, they will need to strengthen their game against spin.

“I make notes on everything. Because I’m a huge doodler, I’ve put some notes here about the batters from Australia who played in the Ashes. I’m not going to go into the Ashes too deeply, but any information I can get from that series and share with the rest of our team, I will. I am excited just to see the strategies come together, to see players out in the centre scoring runs, and to watch how we’ve chased totals down,” Silverwood said.
