‘I believe my chance will surely come’-Rahul Tripathi opens up on missing his chance in India’s squad for the ICC World T20 2022

Rahul Tripathi, the stylish and aggressive batter for India, is optimistic that he will receive plenty of chances to play for the Men in Blue in the years to come, even though he was not selected for India’s roster for the 2012 Twenty20 World Cup. Tripathi had an amazing season with the bat for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League 2022.

In addition to Ishan Kishan and Sanju Samson, Rahul Tripathi was one of the famous batters who was left out of India’s entire team for the next Twenty20 World Cup, which will be held in Australia. Instead, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) settled on Rohit Sharma as the captain, along with specialist batsmen KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, and Suryakumar Yadav.

Nevertheless, in a recent discussion with Sportskeeda, Tripathi seemed as if he was not too disappointed about not being chosen for the team that would compete in the next huge event. The 31-year-old is not giving up on his dream of playing regularly for India in the future but is rather holding on to his optimism.

What did Rahul Tripathi say?

When asked if it was a reality check for him, Tripathi responded by saying, “No, it’s not like that. I am happy that at least I have come into the scheme of things. And obviously, some players have been performing consistently. But I believe my chance will surely come, and my job is to keep performing in whatever possibilities I get. When you are picked, you strive and dream of playing for India, and hopefully, it’ll happen very soon. But my goal is to keep performing in whatever opportunities I get.”

Tripathi batted with the utmost confidence for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Indian Premier League 2022, accumulating 413 runs from 14 innings with a strike rate of 158.24. This is something that should not be forgotten. In an otherwise unsuccessful campaign, he was one of the few bright spots for SRH. As a result, Tripathi is more hopeful about the possibility of having a long run for India if he continues to perform the same way in the next season of the Indian Premier League.
