The flamboyant Indian commentator and Ex-cricketer Aakash Chopra urge the franchise of Mumbai Indians to at least play the last game to the son of master blaster Sachin Tendulkar. The in-progress Arjun Tendulkar has been picked by Mumbai Indians for the last two seasons but wasn’t given a single chance to get on the field. The 22-year-old has only two wickets in his domestic career cricket but in terms of potential, he is not far behind his contemporaries from Mumbai Cricket.
“Arjun must play the last of the season”.
He can also bat left-handed and recently made his debut in the last Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy for Mumbai. He made him under 19 debuts for India against Sri Lanka and there he showed some glimpses of his two-way swing bowling. Many experts based in Mumbai like Zaheer Khan, Ajit Agarkar, and Dilip Vengsarkar have also remarked on his fearless slogging batting approach. In the last few games, Mumbai Indians have tried out players like Hrithik Shoken, Ramandeep Singh, and Kumar Kartikeya, who are kept in the squad as reserve candidates.
But, it looks like Rohit Sharma backed team management doesn’t have any interest in testing the likes of Arjun Tendulkar even in the few last remaining games. This 15th edition of the Indian Premier League is the worst among seasons for the franchise of Mumbai, as they are at the bottom of the table with just 3 three victories in 13 encounters. This is what the cricket expert and the top analyst Aakash Chopra are pointing towards. He posted a tweet late at night after Mumbai got defeated so closely by the Sunrisers Hyderabad. Aakash Chopra mentioned in his write-up, “Arjun must play the last of the season. Mumbai has given the opportunity to almost everyone in the squad….about time you try him out too”.
