“Another Talent Which Got Wasted”, Twitter reacts after Manish Pandey said that he never got a call from Lucknow Super Giants

Manish Pandey is one of the experienced cricketers in the shortest format of the game. He has been playing the IPL for more than a decade. The 33-year-old has represented Mumbai Indians, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Kolkata Knight Riders and Lucknow Super Giants in his IPL career so far.

Overall, he has played as many as 160 games in the IPL wherein he scored 3648 runs at an average of over 30. He maintained a batting average of 121.5, smashing 1 century and 21 fifties to his name.

Manish Pandey has hammered 318 boundaries and 105 sixes in his IPL career. However, as the years progressed, there was a dip in his form. He hardly spent time at the crease as he was dismissed for cheap scores.

During his stint at Sunrisers Hyderabad, the right-handed batsman came under fire for his poor strike-rate. He consumed too many deliveries but failed to give enough returns with the bat.

Manish Pandey said he never got a call from Lucknow Super Giants

The veteran cricketer was sold to Lucknow Super Giants for INR 4.6 crore at the IPL 2022 mega auction in Bengaluru. However, he failed to bring the best out of himself in the last season, scoring just 88 runs in 6 games.

In the wake of poor performance, he was warming the bench in most of the games. The newly-launched franchise decided to release the 33-year-old from their squad ahead of their upcoming auction.

During an interview with Sportskeeda, the right-handed batter added that he never really got a call from Lucknow Super Giants and didn’t know that he was going to be released before.

He said that he just got to know that he was released on the day the retention list was announced. The cricketer added that there was no proper communication between him and the LSG franchise.
