Jaydev Unadkat plies his trade for the Saurashtra cricket team in Indian domestic cricket. The 31-year-old paceman has been one of the vital cogs of Saurashtra’s bowling setup for more than a decade now.
The way he kick-started his cricketing career was really impressive and he was also considered the next big thing in Indian cricket. However, that wasn’t meant to be as he didn’t have a distinguished career like the other players.
There was stiff competition in the Indian cricket team back then and still, Unadkat broke into the playing XI. However, he didn’t get a handful of opportunities on a consistent basis.
He represented Team India in 1 Test, 7 One-Day Internationals and 10 Twenty20 Internationals. The southpaw didn’t take a wicket in the red-ball format wherein he has taken eight wickets in ODIs and 14 wickets in T20Is.
Jaydev Unadkat finishes Vijay Hazare Trophy 2022 with the most wickets
Jaydev Unadkat once again became the hero of the Indian domestic circuit by topping the list in terms of most wickets taken in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2022.
The Saurashtra captain has accounted for 19 dismissals at a bowling average of 19.1 and played a spectacular role in guiding the team to the finals of the competition.
The left-arm paceman bowled exceptionally well against the Maharashtra cricket team in the final at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. Having bowled his full quota of ten overs, he conceded 25 runs and took a wicket and also bowled a maiden over as well.
He drew plaudits for his impeccable bowling performance in the final where he maintained an economy of 2.50. Maharashtra posted 248/9 in their designated quota of 50 overs. Ruturaj Gaikwad top-scored with 108 runs with the help of 7 fours and 4 sixes.
In reply, the Saurashtra cricket team chased down the target in 46.3 overs as they won the game by five wickets. Sheldon Jackson scored an unbeaten 133 off 136 balls including 12 fours and 5 sixes.

The weakest bowlers I have seen in the history of Indian domestic cricket is Jaydev Unadkat, Avesh Khan and Harshal Patel. Harshal is kind of bowler who have replaced a good bowler in Team India as well. A laddu bowlerin Indian camp and Kuldeep Sen, Mavi are outside. unfortunate https://t.co/IOrvHGzuUu
