Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan yet again stood tall for their side as they smashed a 101-run opening partnership for the first wicket in the game against Bangladesh on Thursday (13th October).

Chasing the target of 174 runs, Babar and Rizwan exhibited their class yet again and aced the chase for Pakistan. They smashed 101 in 12.3 overs to set the tone for their side. While the skipper scored 55 runs in 40 balls, the keeper batter smashed 69 runs in 56 balls to help their side win the game.

With their 101 stand, they registered their 8th-century partnership in T20Is. They now have the most 100-plus stands and most 50-plus stands in the shortest format of the game and also have been rated as the most dangerous opening pair by the ICC for the T20 World Cup 2022.

The duo has played an instrumental role in taking Pakistan to the top in T20Is of late. They are one of the main reasons behind their side getting the place in the final of the ongoing Tri-Series and it’s fair to say that they’ll be crucial for their team’s success in the upcoming World Cup.
