3 Vintage cricketers who slammed three consecutive centuries in world cricket

When it comes to various records which have made existence in the history of world cricket, one weird record of hitting 3 back to back centuries also comes into the picture when all the stats have to be put in a classic Book of records. Not many cricketers in world cricket have achieved this feat in their international cricket career because this sort of consistency has faded from time to time, especially from the rough 90s.

The reason behind it is the promotion of aggressive batting approaches in the modern era. But here is the list of elite cricketers who slammed three back-to-back centuries compiling all formats of the game.

#1. Kumar Sangakkara (SL).

Kumar Sangakkara the former Sri Lanka Captain is the first guy to come on the list who slammed three centuries back to back in one-day international and test cricket format which is the most dominant record in the history of world cricket compiling the formats of one-day international and the test. Sangakkara smashed a one-day international ton against Bangladesh and in the test matches his triple centuries have come against England, which is considered the Mecca of cricket.

#2. Ab de Villiers (SA).

AB de Villiers the former South African Captain and top-order batsman has smashed three consecutive centuries in test matches in completely adverse situations where most of the batsmen of world cricket got trapped easily. In the year 2010 when South Africa has come to India touring for the test matches and ODI games, Devilliers smashed three consecutive centuries in the Ahmedabad and Gwalior test matches.

In the second innings of the Ahmedabad test, de Villiers smashed his first century and in the first and second innings of the Gwalior test match he again comes up with big tons.

#3. David Warner (Aus).

David Warner becomes the third person to smash 3 conservative terms in the history of world cricket, Warner’s back-to-back centuries against South Africa in the Cape Town test in 2014. After that just a month later the Australian side traveled to the UAE to play a three-match test series against the Pakistan side and Warner had again made a century in the first innings of the first game.

On the other side, there are plenty of other players in world cricket who slammed 3 back to back centuries like Aravinda De Silva, Zaheer Abbas, and Sunil Gavaskar but they are not listed in this because the parameter of the number of balls played is also taken into the consideration.
