Germany Batted Entire Twenty Overs And Scored Only 32 Runs In T20 International

Lowest totals in T20I cricket

The world of cricket is used to witness something crazy on a regular basis and they saw one of the most controlled innings in T20 cricket where Germany played 20 overs and could garner only 32 runs despite having 7 wickets in hand.

Batting first, Ireland women managed to garner 196 runs for the loss of 2 wickets from their quota of 20 overs. Rebecca Stokell and Gaby Lewis imparted a fiery start as they kept on hacking away at the bowlers.

Stokell managed to score 44 from 30 balls, while Lewis blasted an amazing century from just 58 balls that saw her hammering 11 fours and 3 sixes. Their captain Laura Delany managed to get off to a decent start but failed to open the show of blitzkrieg and got out for 22 from 30 balls.

Germany chronicled one of the slowest chases and lost

Chasing a monumental total of 196, Germany started wobbling from the very onset. Anna Healey and Christina Gough couldn’t really shake off the manacles imposed upon them by the Irish bowlers and Eimear Richardson got the better of Healey.

Once again started a slow and hard toil by the German batters as Anuradha Doddaballapur and Gough kept on defending everything that was subjected at them.

By the time the German innings came to an end, it was 20 overs on the card and only 32 runs on the board. The last ball of the German innings resulted in the dismissal of the German skipper as Richardson struck again.

Richardson was the pick of the Irish bowlers as she chronicled figures of 3-0-5-2 while there were two other bowlers in Ava Canning and Lara Maritz who registered economy rate less than 1.00 per over which is deemed as miraculous even in Test cricket.

It was fascinating to watch the Irish bowlers have their way at the German women as they had a good deal of practice with a variety of extraordinary bowling.
