James Anderson is a veteran fast bowler of the England cricket team. Over the years, the Test specialist has troubled many great batsmen with his pace. However, when he came out to bat in the 2nd Test of the series against India, Jasprit Bumrah did not show much respect to him.
Anderson is a tail-ender batsman. Generally, the bowlers tend to bowl stump to stump or yorkers to the tail-enders and dismiss them quickly. However, Bumrah fired bouncers at Anderson. After the match, Anderson took part in an interview during his appearance on Tailenders Podcast.
In that interview, Anderson shared the details of his heated battle with Jasprit Bumrah at the Lord’s cricket ground. The veteran English player claimed that Bumrah had no intentions of dismissing him. He explained that the Indian right-arm fast bowler bowled only a couple of deliveries to the stumps. “When I came out to bat, Joe said Bumrah was not bowling as quick as he normally does. And then, the first ball was 90 miles an hour and on the money, wasn’t it? And it felt like, I haven’t felt like this ever in my career. I felt he wasn’t trying to get me out.”
