Royal Challengers Bangalore is one of the most popular franchises in the competition. They may not have won a trophy, so far, but their presence is important for the tournament. Many legends of the game have played for this franchise. They were a part of the first-ever IPL encounter. It was the game against KKR and it did not end in the desired manner for the team. They conceded a score of above 200 to KKR, thanks to the brilliance of Brendon McCullum. RCB faltered in the chase and had to surrender to a loss by a margin of 140 runs. Here, we take a look at two players you may not know played in the first-ever IPL game for RCB in IPL 2008.

For RCB, Sunil Joshi played four games, including the first one for the franchise in 2008. Like the others, even he was not able to put up a strong show. After retirement, Joshi has taken a lot of coaching assignments. At one point, he was also the interim Chairman of the Selectors of the Indian Cricket Team.
