“Todd Murphy now described as the second best spinner in Australia” – Twitter reacts as Australia’s probable Test squad for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in India revealed

Australia recently locked horns with South Africa in the three-match Test series at home very recently. The Aussies won the first two Tests before the third Test ended in a draw as the rain played spoilsport on most part of the days.

Australia won the series by 2-0 and are currently on top of the ICC World Test Championship points table. The fact that they have lost just once in the second cycle reflects their dominance.

The Aussies are well aware of the fact that their upcoming tour to India won’t be that easy. Australia will play the Border Gavaskar Trophy series followed by the three-match ODI series.

The first Test of the four-match Test series will go all guns blazing on February 9 in Nagpur. Aussies are also aware of the fact that the wickets in India are more spin-friendly.

Australia’s probable Test squad for the India tour revealed

Meanwhile, Cricket Australia are set to name a four-pronged spin attack for the Test series against India. It seems that Victorian player Todd Murphy might go on to make his debut this time around.

Australia already have the best Test spinner in their team and he is none other than the experienced Nathan Lyon. On the other hand, Todd Murphy, the potential debutant is considered the second-best spinner in Australia.

As per News Corp, the spinner could join Lyon if the selectors chose two spinners in the playing XI. Meanwhile, the former Australian fast bowler Michael Kasprowicz reckons that drafting Todd Murphy could be dangerous. Michael Kasprowicz feels Mitch Swepson could do the trick if he is selected.
