Just a day ago, former Pakistani fast bowler Wasim Akram made a shocking revelation on former Pakistan captain Saleem Malik in his autobiography by the name of ‘Sultan – A Memoir’, which was released earlier this month.
Akram’s untold remarks rocked the entire cricket fraternity. Well, it’s quite obvious that there are plenty of incidents that happen inside the dressing room, which often goes unnoticed.
However, when things turned from bad to worse, cricketers, after their retirement, tend to open up or expose the dark side of other players’ behaviours. Just like that Wasim Akram spoke the other side of Saleem Malik of late.
Former Pakistan captain Salman Butt takes a dig at Wasim Akram for shocking remarks on Saleem Malik
Wasim Akram didn’t mince words while talking about Saleem Malik’s shocking behaviour. In his autobiography, Akram had mentioned that the former Pakistan captain Saleem Malik would not treat him properly during their playing days at Pakistan cricket.
Saleem led the Pakistan cricket team from 1992 to 1995. He was totally taken aback by Wasim Akram’s remarks on him that went viral on social media creating a buzz. Akram, in his autobiography mentioned that Saleem was negative, selfish and treated him like a servant.
He went on to elaborate by adding that Saleem ordered him to clean his boots and clothes and that the initial days of Akram’s career were not going well.
Meanwhile, Saleem went on to defend himself by adding that if he was selfish, then Akram wouldn’t have even made a debut under him. However, former Pakistan skipper Salman Butt took a dig at Akram for his words.
While speaking on the matter in his official YouTube channel, the former Pakistan opener launched a scathing attack on bowling great Wasim Akram by questioning the logic behind the shocking remarks of what had transpired back in the ’90s. Butt further added that it is common for humans to make mistakes in life.
“It’s like saying, my book, my rules. But then you don’t think that will this make thigs better? Will it benefit anyone? Will it make things controversial? We should propagate word which bring about positivity in people. We all make mistakes in like. Don’t understand this entire thing where some people just start complaining about what happened back in the 90s,” he said
