“Being underdogs is good for India,” Fans optimistic about Indian Cricket Team bringing T20 World Cup 2022 home

India will begin their campaign against Pakistan on Sunday (23rd October).

Fans on Twitter were optimistic about the Indian Cricket Team bringing T20 World Cup 2022 home. They said that it’s good that the Rohit Sharma-led are underdogs as previously when they won the ICC tournament they were underdogs at that time too.

Indian Cricket Team favorite to win the T20 World Cup 2022?

Although India will enter into the T20 World Cup 2022 on the back of decent preparations and a bilateral series win, it’s fair to say that they have struggled to get going in the multi-nation tournaments.

Having won their last ICC Trophy in 2013, India has failed to handle the pressure in the knockout stages and it was even worse in 2021 when they were knocked out in the group stage only. After that, they changed their approach and adopted an aggressive brand of play.

While they won all the bilateral series after that, they falter yet again in the multi-nation tournament as they were knocked out of the Asia Cup 2022 in the Super 4 stage. They will be entering the T20 World Cup 2022 with high confidence but not many are backing them to win the tournament.

Also with India having death bowling problems, it’s fair to say that they will not start as the favorites. They have quality players in the team and if they play to their potential and handle pressure situations as well they can go on to clinch the tournament as well.
