Three areas that India needs to improve in the South Africa series

The three-match T20I series between India and South Africa will begin from Wednesday (28th September).

IND vs SA 2022: The wait for the T20 World Cup 2022 is ending. After the thumping Australia series, India is next slated to take on South Africa in the three-match T20I series. The games will begin on Wednesday (28th September) in Thiruvananthapuram with second and third games to be played on October 2nd and October 4th in Guwahati and Indore respectively. The series will be last for them ahead of the marquee event and it’ll be the last opportunity for them to find their balance.

Areas that India needs to improve in the T20I series against South Africa

Although the series against Australia was a near-perfect game for India, there were a few areas that they need to improve before heading into the T20 World Cup 2022. As India will take on South Africa, we take a look at three areas that India needs to improve.

Death bowling

One of the main areas that the Indian Cricket Team needs to improve in the upcoming T20I series against South Africa is their death bowling. The Rohit Sharma-led side leaked a lot of runs during the fag end of the innings in all three games, which will be concerning for them especially with T20 World Cup 2022 around the corner. The likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Harshal Patel and others need to chip and gain in confidence ahead of the marquee event.

Solid opening stand

Another area of improvement that Team India would be looking for in the upcoming T20I series against South Africa will be their opening partnership. Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul as opening partners failed in all three games, scoring 21, 39 and 5 respectively and it can be a problem for them heading into the T20 World Cup 2022. Both the openers would be looking to rectify their mistakes and give their team a solid start in the series as well as the marquee tournament.

Better Fielding

Over the years, fielding has let India down in many crucial games and it was also the case in the recently concluded T20I series against Australia. The Men in Blue dropped catches in the series and also were sloppy in the field. They need to regroup and come together as a group if they have to fancy their chances of winning the series followed by the T20 World Cup. They need to put in hard yards and take crucial chances, which can change the course of the game.
