The second T20I between India and Sri Lanka is taking place at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune. India’s T20I skipper Hardik Pandya won the toss and chose to bowl first.

Sri Lankan cricket team got off to a rollicking start to the game in the form of Pathum Nissanka and Kusal Mendis. The duo scored runs at the rate of knots as they added 80 runs for the first wicket.

Team India lost confidence after they conceded too many runs inside the powerplay overs. Yuzvendra Chahal provided a breakthrough as he trapped Kusal Mendis for an LBW.

The opening batsman scored 52 off 31 balls including three fours and four hits over the fence at a strike rate of 167.74. After the departure of Mendis, Umran Malik provided a breakthrough by dismissing Bhanuka Rajapaksa with a fiery 147 kmph ball.

The right-arm fast bowler went from strength to strength by getting rid of dangerous Charith Asalanka for 37 off 19 (4 sixes). When Wanindu Hasaranga came out to bat, Umran Malik made a complete mess of his off-stump.

For the first time in his career, Umran Malik took three wickets in international cricket. He bowled really well in his first three overs before conceding more runs in his final over.

Overall, he registered 3/48 in his quota of 4 overs. Talking about Sri Lanka’s innings, they have posted 206 for the loss of six wickets in their quota of 20 overs. Dasun Shanaka scored an unbeaten 56 off 22 balls (2 fours, 6 sixes).
