“Welcome to the best IPL team sir”, Twitter reacts after Mark Boucher said he is extremely excited for him to work with Rohit, Suryakumar and many young players in IPL 2023

Mumbai Indians dominated the cash-rich IPL with their fearless approach to the game for several seasons now. They took plenty of risks and for which, they reaped rewards.

Under Rohit Sharma’s captaincy, Mumbai Indians became a phenomenal force to be reckoned with in India’s premier T20 competition. Mumbai Indians have won as many as five titles since the inaugural edition of the IPL.

However, they were unable to implement a proper structure in the fifteenth edition of the IPL. Whatever moves they took in the games, backfired completely, thus putting them on the back foot.

The five-time IPL champions totally messed up the gameplan and which is why they finished at the rock-bottom of the IPL 2023 points table. Having played 14 games in the group stage, MI won four games but lost the rest of the 10 games.

Mark Boucher expresses his delight to work with Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav

Just a couple of months ago, Mumbai Indians appointed former Proteas wicketkeeper-batsman Mark Boucher as the head coach of the franchise. Mark Boucher has a formidable experience in terms of coaching.

He has plied his trade as South Africa’s head coach and he stepped down from the post following Proteas’ exit from the ICC Twenty20 World Cup 2022 in Australia. Mark Boucher will be looking forward to starting a new chapter with Mumbai Indians’ franchise.

While speaking to Sportstar, Mark Boucher expressed his delight to work with the likes of Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav and many youngsters in the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League.

It will be quite interesting to see how Rohit Sharma and Co would respond in the upcoming season after their disastrous campaign in the last edition. Moreover, the IPL fraternity would get to see the return of Jasprit Bumrah for the next season.

Mumbai Indians recruited the services of Jofra Archer in IPL 2022 auction in Bengaluru. The England international will be pairing with Bumrah to form a deadly pace attack.
