3 Players SunRisers Hyderabad Might Release Before IPL 2023

SunRisers Hyderabad did not start as the favorites to win IPL 2022, but during the season, SRH made the fans believe that they have got what it takes to win the trophy this year. At one stage, SRH was in the top half of the points table with five consecutive wins.

However, Kane Williamson’s men lost momentum in the second half of the competition. They ended up in the bottom half of the points table, failing to qualify for the points table. SRH has one of the best fast-bowling attacks with many quality Indian options available.

They will look to significantly strengthen their spin attack, which is why they might release the following three overseas pacers from their squad ahead of IPL 2023.

1. SunRisers Hyderabad may release Sean Abbott

Sean Abbott has a good record in T20 cricket, but the Australian fast bowler has failed to make an impact in the IPL. Abbott played only one match for the SunRisers Hyderabad this season, where he conceded 47 runs off four overs. Abbott may return to the auction pool next year.

2. SunRisers Hyderabad may release Romario Shepherd

Fans were surprised to see SunRisers Hyderabad spending 7.75 crores to sign Romario Shepherd at the IPL 2022 Auction. The Caribbean star could not impress much in his debut season as he conceded 98 runs in nine overs while picking up three wickets. SRH can boost their auction purse by letting Shepherd go.

3. Fazalhaq Farooqi

Afghanistan fast bowler Fazalhaq Farooqi played three matches in his first IPL season, where he went for 110 runs in 12 overs. He did manage to take two wickets, but since SRH have a good Indian pace attack, they can let him go back to the auction pool.

SRH should look to retain Umran Malik, T Natarajan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Marco Jansen and Kartik Tyagi. They can add some quality spinners to the bowling unit then.
