hTThe No.1 batter in the T20 format right now is Suryakumar Yadav. Although he had a late debut, SKY has managed to already break a lot of records in T20Is. This has happened just within two years of his debut. Now, in 2023, the Mumbai batter has a chance to topple a few more records. On that note, here, we take a look at three International T20I cricket world records Suryakumar Yadav might break in 2023.
1) Most Man of the Match Awards – 15 (Virat Kohli)*
Suryakumar Yadav recently earned his 10th M.O.M award in his 45th game. On the other hand, the players ahead of him on this list took more than 100 games to achieve this feat.
The kind of form that SKY is in, it won’t be a surprise if he overtakes Virat Kohli on this list. Moreover, there are discussions ongoing if Virat would return to the T20I squad and this would further give an opportunity for Suryakumar Yadav.
2) Most T20I Centuries – 4 (Rohit Sharma)*
Most T20I hundreds is one of the International T20I cricket world records Suryakumar Yadav might break in 2023. In the last few months itself, SKY has hit three T20I centuries and that leaves him just one short to equal Rohit Sharma’s record.
SKY is in top form at the moment and he would definitely play all T20Is for India in 2023. Hence, there is a high chance for him to score two more centuries.
Making a bold prediction that Surya Kumar Yadav will end up as the player with most T20I centuries when he retires 💪 #INDvSL

3) Fastest to 2000 T20I Runs – 52 Innings (Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan)
At the moment, Suryakumar Yadav has 1578 runs in 43 innings. In his next innings, he would require 400+ runs to become the fastest batter to complete 2000 T20I runs.
SKY’s average is 46 and if he maintains this and scores a few more runs in every game or compensates it with a top score in two or three games, he is set to beat Babar and Rizwan’s record. Yes, it is a tough ask but SKY’s current form makes it possible.
