Shikhar Dhawan is going to lead the team India in the upcoming one-day international series against West Indies. India is visiting the country of West Indies after four long years so the conditions of playing will be a bit difficult for the Indian batsmen in the initial games. Shikhar Dhawan was recently a part of the Indian team in the ODI series against England where India clinched victory by the margin of 2-1.
But he wasn’t able to make too many runs from the bat in that series which is the biggest question that arises in the context of the upcoming fixture. Also, one fact that becomes more important with it is who will be the partner of Shikhar Dhawan in the opening pair. There are many youngsters present in the Indian squad for West Indies and given beneath are the two names who would probably join hands with the Skipper for the opening combo.
#1. Ishan Kishan.
Ishan Kishan is the name that could probably open with Shikhar Dhawan in the upcoming one-day series. The only thing which goes in his disfavour is the left-hand batsman combination because both Shikhar Dhawan and Isha Kishan bat lefty which could go in the favour of West Indies instead of that Kishan is in the top form in the recent T20 as which he played for India.
#2. Sanju Samson.
Sanju Samson is the second candidate who also has a probability to open in the first ODI with Shikhar Dhawan. Samson has recently stamped a majestic century against the T20 series of Ireland but he would probably get a big shock when the Indian team selectors didn’t nominate his name for the England T20I series. But this time he has the most chances to open with Shikhar Dhawan as the left-hand and right-hand combination works for India in such big matches.
