2 players who mustered 2000 runs and bagged 200 wickets in Tests since 2015

Test cricket is often referred to as the purest form of the game because of its originality and class. Although there are countless active cricketers in the present era, not all of them go on to play red-ball cricket.

The ones who possess a great track record in first-class cricket are the ones who will go on to thrive in this format. It is not that easy to score runs and also take wickets for the team in Test cricket.

However, some all-rounders went on to make waves in the longest format of the game by letting their all-round performances do the talking. In this article, we will now take a glimpse at the two players who essayed 2000 runs and accounted for 200 wickets in Tests since 2015.

1. Ravindra Jadeja

Ravindra Jadeja is one of the top-tier all-rounders in the world. The Navagam-born cricketer has often chipped in with significant contributions to the Indian cricket team for a long time now. Besides his all-round performances, he has been really sensational on the field.

However, his performances since 2015 have been much better as far as red-ball cricket is concerned. He also earned the tag of ‘complete all-rounder’ for scoring 2000 runs and taking 200 wickets since 2015. Overall, Jadeja has scored 2593 runs in 61 Tests including three centuries and 18 fifties to his name.

2. Ravichandran Ashwin

India’s veteran off-spinner, Ravichandran Ashwin has been one of the greatest spinners for the national cricket team after legendary Anil Kumble (619 wickets). Ravi Ashwin took 450 wickets during the first innings of the first Test against Australia in the Border Gavaskar Trophy series.

Besides his bowling masterclass, he has been productive with the bat as well. He has scored 5 centuries and 13 fifties to his name. He is one of the two players who scored 2000 runs and has taken 200 wickets since 2015, which is quite a magnificent achievement. Overall, Ravi Ashwin has scored 3066 runs in Test cricket.
