“I see Rishabh Pant as the potential Indian captain in future”- Yuvraj Singh

The Indian Cricket team currently has a light environment. All the players are enjoying their little break post the World Test Championship final. Some of them have opted to watch Wimbledon, whereas some prefer to watch the UEFA EURO 2020.

They will be playing their next series against England in August month. A total of 5 test matches will be played. However, on the other hand, another Indian side will also be playing their series against Sri Lanka in July. That side will be led by Shikhar Dhawan had will have the likes of the young guns.

After India’s loss to New Zealand in the WTC final, the side would hope to get going against England. Rishabh Pant has been the one such star who might be waiting to have a big inning.

The fans had a significant faith in him after his match-winning knock against Australia before the WTC final. That match-winning innings helped India to the finals.

Former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh recently spoke about Rishabh Pant. He feels that Pant has the touch of Adam Gilchrist and can be the game turner for India. However, he also added something about the captaincy.

“I also see Rishabh as a potential Indian captain. Because he is jumpy, chirpy, and talks around. But I feel he surely has a smart brain as well, because I saw him when he was captaining in the IPL for Delhi Capitals. He did an incredible job. So, people should look at him as the next captain of the Indian team in the coming years,” he told TOI

Rishabh Pant led the Delhi side pretty well in IPL 2021

Rishabh Pant has been doing brilliantly with the captaincy badge. He has led the Delhi side in IPL 2021 in the absence of Shreyas Iyer. The side currently stays at the top position on the points table with six wins in eight matches. With Iyer’s presence in phase 2 of IPL 2021, it would be exciting to see who captains the side.
