“Will that not expose plans of players?” – Twitter reacts after innovative technology captures David Warner’s tips in BBL 12

Australia’s veteran opening batsman, David Warner made the headlines recently when he dropped a huge hint at his retirement. He said he will most likely call it quits from international cricket in 2024.

Seemingly, the experienced campaigner is targeting the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 as an international career farewell. The 36-year-old recently featured in the Test series against the South African cricket team.

The southpaw silenced the critics by smashing a double century against the Proteas at the MCG. Meanwhile, the veteran cricketer has returned to Australia’s premier T20 competition, Big Bash League after a long gap of 9 years.

Innovative technology in BBL captures David Warner’s tips

David Warner made a BBL comeback through the Sydney Thunder franchise in the ongoing twelfth edition of the BBL. He played against Perth Scorchers at Sydney Showground Stadium, Sydney.

Batting first, Sydney Thunder lost two wickets early on in the game as they were stuttering at 3/2 in 1.2 overs. Needless to say, David Warner and Oliver Davies steadied the ship for quite a while by adding a 67-run partnership for the third wicket.

During the partnership, Warner was seen sharing valuable tips with Ollie Davies on how to go about the business and the video clip of the same has gone viral on social media portals.

Notably, the innovative technology in the BBL captured everything that David Warner shared with the non-striker. Meanwhile, netizens reckon that voice technology might expose the plans of the players in the first place.

On the other hand, David Warner’s comeback wasn’t a memorable one as he got dismissed for 19 runs off Matthew Kelly’s delivery in the second ball of the 10th over.

Oliver Davies top-scored with 52 off 36 balls where he hammered 4 boundaries and 3 sixes to his name. Andrew Tye was the pick of the bowlers for Perth Scorchers as he registered 3/27 in 4 overs, while also bowling a maiden over.

Perth Scorchers won the game by nine wickets as Cameron Bancroft top-scored with 55 off 40 balls including 3 fours and 2 sixes.
