A gush of melancholy surrounded RCB’s fortress after the game ended in favour of Lucknow Super Giants in yesterday night’s encounter. KL Rahul and Co couldn’t be any happier after tasting the thrilling win.
Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore produced one heck of a powerful battle full of run-fests. However, in the end, LSG went on to win the game by one wicket.
RCB opened their IPL 2023 campaign with a surreal win over Mumbai Indians at their fortress. However, they went on to lose back-to-back games against Kolkata Knight Riders and Lucknow Super Giants.
Royal Challengers Bangalore won just one game and lost two games. They will have to fix the leaks before it’s too late else they might incur issues and complex situations in important phases of the tournament.
When will Josh Hazlewood and Wanindu Hasaranga sneak into the playing XI?
Meanwhile, RCB’s marquee players namely Josh Hazlewood and Wanindu Hasaranga are yet to play for the franchise in the sixteenth edition of the Indian Premier League.
There are doubts surrounding the possibility of their return to the playing XI and many are uncertain about when will they be available for the team’s selection. For the record, Josh Hazlewood sustained an injury during the Test series in India.
Since then, he hasn’t been involved in any competitive game. It is quite obvious that there have been a few availability and injury issues in the bowling unit for Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Sri Lankan international Wanindu Hasaranga was busy with national duties and as a result, he missed the first three games for RCB. However, now, he joined the RCB squad on April 10. He should be available for team selection, probably in the next game itself against DC on April 15.
Josh Hazlewood is missing at least the first half of the IPL 2023 season while his back-up Reece Topley was ruled out of the entire edition of the tournament owing to an injury that he sustained during the match against Mumbai Indians.
Fans are curious to know when Hazlewood would return to the team. Recently Hazlewood revealed that he will be heading to the RCB camp on April 14 and even RCB’s Director of Cricket Operations, Mike Hesson confirmed the same.
“Everything is ticking along according to plan, so I’ll be heading over on the 14th (of April) depending on how the next two weeks go. I probably won’t be quite ready to go right then, but (after) another week in India to touch things up skills wise I should be ready to go hopefully,” Hazlewood was quoted as saying by The Age.
