Australia’s best batsman, Steve Smith was touted to dictate the terms against Team India in the ongoing Border Gavaskar Trophy series. However, as it turned out, he failed to bring the best out of himself in the first two games.
Australia fell short of tricks and ideas to outsmart India in the BGT series. The visitors were miles behind in terms of technical quality and eventually succumbed to India’s pressure in the first two Tests.
Team India retained the Border Gavaskar Trophy for the fourth straight time. Australia still have a lot of catching up to do to compete with India and they might as well have to raise their bar to pull off the trick.
Steve Smith totally confused by his dismissal in the Delhi Test
Australia’s top-tier batsman, Steve Smith failed to lead the batting attack by example in the first two games for Australia. Meanwhile, he addressed the reporters at the pre-match press conference ahead of the Indore Test.
The third Test between India and Australia will begin on March 1 at Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore. While addressing the reporters, Steve Smith reviewed his mode of dismissal in the Delhi Test at Arun Jaitley Stadium.
The right-handed batsman said he was totally confused by his dismissal in the second Test. He told reporters that he was absolutely livid with his dismissal and questioned himself as to what he was doing actually.
He also added that it wasn’t the finest moment of his career and echoed that he is still picking up lessons on the go. Steve Smith who has thoroughly enjoyed batting in the longest format of the game has scored 8718 runs at an average of 60.1 in 94 Tests.
The star cricketer has slammed as many as 30 centuries, 37 fifties and four double centuries in the purest format of the game. He will be looking forward to doing well in the third Test against Team India.
