India defeated Bangladesh by just five runs in the 2022 T20 World Cup match on Wednesday. At one point, it looked like India would lose the game. However, the Bangladesh team was affected by the drop in momentum by the rain break. There were also a few controversial decisions by the umpires. On that note, here, we take a look as a Pakistan journalist claims the India vs Bangladesh match was resumed on a wet pitch.
India vs Bangladesh game was a thriller
After posting a solid total of 184 in the first innings, it looked like India would win the game. However, Bangladesh opener Litton Das arrived with aggressive intent. He scored 60 runs from 27 balls and almost took India out of the game. However, the rain arrived at the wrong time for the Bangladesh side. They lost the momentum and then, India held its nerve to win the encounter.
The game, though, was not short of controversies. It was raining so heavily that it felt difficult for the game to continue. However, the match happened. Some of the umpiring decisions were also controversial. A Pakistan journalist based out of London, Ihtisham Ul Haq, said that the match continued on a wet pitch. Here is what he said:

India needs to pull its socks up
Meanwhile, it was a big wake up call for Team India. Although the batters did well, the problems of a slow start still existed. This has to be fixed at the earliest. The lower middle order must step up adequately for the team to do well.
The bowling needs some more penetration, especially in the powerplay. The strategy to tackle an aggressive batter has to be chalked out better. India must also find a way to bring the spinners more into the game. If these issues are fixed, India will do well.
