Watch: PSL Bowler Delivers A Yorker In Malinga Style To Get Alex Hales Out

The 2022 edition of PSL has not been short of action. In one of the eliminator games, there was a terrific bowling display which left many fans in awe. In this article, we take a look at the yorker in Malinga style bowled by a PSL cricketer to get Alex Hales out.

A yorker in Malinga style

It was a tense eliminator between Peshawar Zalmi and Islamabad United a few days ago. Batting first, riding on knocks by Kamran Akmal and Shoaib Malik, Peshwar posted a total of 169 on the board. In a pressure game, it was indeed a decent total.

However, despite some quick wickets, Islamabad United was able to chase down the total with three balls to spare. Alex Hales, who returned to the league after a short break, played a match-winning knock of 62 (49) to ease out for the players below. However, if not for a brilliant delivery, Hales could have finished the game. Pakistan pacer Salman Irshad replicated Lasith Malinga to pull off a toe-crushing yorker. The English opener just did not have an answer for it. He was brought down on his knees and could not save the ball from hitting the stumps. Salman also got Asif Ali in a similar manner. At that moment in the game, both these wickets were crucial. Here is a look at Alex Hales’ wicket courtesy of an unplayable ball by Salman:

PSL 2022 will end on a high

Despite the COVID issues and players pulling out due to bio-bubble restrictions, the 2022 edition of PSL did offer good entertainment to the fans. The event had quite a few good teams on display and hence, many games came down to the wire. The final will be played between Multan Sultans and Lahore Qalandars at Lahore on Sunday. Considering both these teams were arguably the best in the competition, PSL will therefore end on a fitting note with one of them lifting the trophy.
