Virender Sehwag praises Prithvi Shaw in a unique way

Virender Sehwag has praised Prithvi Shaw in a unique way after his fantastic performance against the Chennai Super Kings. Continuing his fine form from domestic cricket, Shaw smashed a brilliant half-century for the Delhi Capitals in their first match of IPL 2021

This half-century helped the Delhi Capitals get off to a magnificent start. Ultimately, it resulted in the team’s victory as the Chennai Super Kings could only scalp three wickets in Delhi’s innings.

After Prithvi Shaw got out, Virender Sehwag posted a photo of himself, Sachin Tendulkar and Brian Lara on Instagram, saying that they all three played well today.

Some fans were left confused after that post, but they might not know that the current Indian coach Ravi Shastri had once said that Prithvi Shaw was a combination of Sachin, Sehwag, and Lara.

Here’s what Ravi Shastri had said:

“He (Prithvi Shaw) is born to play cricket. He has been playing since the age of eight in the maidans of Mumbai. You can see all that hardwork showing. He is a spectator’s delight. There is a bit of Sachin there, a bit of Viru in him and when he walks – there is a bit of Lara as well.”

Hence, Virender Sehwag posted the following photo on Instagram.

Prithvi Shaw scored 72 runs off 38 deliveries in Mumbai

Although Prithvi Shaw plays for the Delhi Capitals in IPL, his home ground is the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. He has grown up playing cricket at that venue and the fans saw it in his performance tonight.

Batting against some top-quality Chennai Super Kings bowlers, Prithvi Shaw showed no nerves at all and smacked a 38-ball 72 before DJ Bravo dismissed him. He hit eight fours and three sixes in his match-winning knock.

Shikhar Dhawan supported him to perfection as the Delhi Capitals opened their account on the IPL 2021 Points Table with a memorable win against the Chennai Super Kings.
