“Virat+Gayle > virat+abd” – Twitter reacts as Chris Gayle said that he enjoyed batting with Virat Kohli the most in IPL

Royal Challengers Bangalore, one of the most popular IPL teams, entered the IPL 2023 auction having retained their main players in the draft earlier this year. To prepare for the auction on December 23 in Kochi, they released just five players, the fewest by any team.

Being one of the most dedicated fan groups in cricket, the Bangalore franchise entered the auction with a purse of 8.75 crores. During the early stages of the auction, RCB was rather quiet as teams like Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians made headlines by investing significant money in Ben Stokes and Cameron Green, respectively.

Reece Topley, a tall English pacer, was the first player signed by the Men in Red at the auction, and they only had to pay 1.90 Crore to get his signature. The left-arm bowler had a stellar 2022 comeback in limited-overs cricket for England, and he seems set to be an even better addition to the already-impressive bowling lineup that includes Mohammed Siraj and Josh Hazlewood.

They also made headlines by acquiring 24-year-old English all-rounder Will Jacks in the IPL 2023 auction. The Englishman has solid batting ability and can also contribute with the ball. They purchased the young Englishman in hopes that he might fill in for the ailing Glenn Maxwell and spent 3.20 crores on him. They also tried to get Manish Pandey, an IPL veteran and elegant Indian batting mainstay who was signed by Delhi Capitals.

Former RCB player, Chris Gayle talked about his time with the RCB camp. He revealed that he enjoyed batting the most in the IPL with the former RCB captain, Virat Kohli.
