“Virat Kohli’s average > Babar Azam’s strike rate”, Twitter reacts to Babar Azam’s poor form in 2022 T20 World Cup

England defeated Pakistan in the finals of the T20 World Cup on Sunday. Although Pakistan started poorly, they managed to reach the finals, mainly due to their middle-order batters and the bowlers. Babar Azam, touted as the best batter at the moment, could not do well in Australia. Had he managed to be in good form in the finals, Pakistan had a good chance to win the trophy. On that note, here, we take a look at how Twitter reacted to Babar Azam‘s poor form in the 2022 T20 World Cup.

Pakistan’s batting strategy has to change

Pakistan’s batting show in the 2022 T20 World Cup is a big eye-opener for the management. Till now, on suitable conditions, the opening due of Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam was carrying the team’s batting. However, once this duo failed to step up, Pakistan struggled a lot.

Considering these factors, Pakistan has to change its batting approach in the T20 format. Firstly, they must think about the opening duo, which is more often than not losing games rather than winning them in recent weeks. Someone like Fakhar Zaman or Mohammad Haris could move up to open the batting while Babar must bat at the crucial No.3 position. The team also has to make good use of Shan Masood, who left many impressed with his technique in Australia. Pakistan has quality all-rounders in the form of Shadab Khan and Mohammad Nawaz. They must try to make good use of their batting skills, as well.
