WATCH – “Asia Cup shouldn’t go,” Shaheen Afridi’s special message to his teammates

Shaheen Afridi is currently in UK, undergoing rehabilitation.

Pakistan bowling spearhead Shaheen Afridi, who is currently undergoing rehabilitation in England, gave his teammates a special message. The pacer had a fun chat with his Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah and also gave an update about his fitness.

“Rehab is going well, Asia Cup Jana Nahi chahiye,” says Shaheen Afridi during his interaction with his team

Ahead of the Asia Cup 2022, Pakistan was jolted with a massive blow as Afridi was ruled out of the tournament due to a knee injury. He initially stayed with the team but then was sent to England by PCB to attain full fitness.

In his absence, Pakistan has done reasonably well in the tournament so far. After suffering defeat in their first game against India, they came back strongly and thumped Hong Kong followed by India to inch closer to the finals.

Despite Shaheen not being there, Pakistan’s pacers have been performing well and are trying to fill the void left by him. Although, they were expensive against India in Super 4 but they also tested the Indian batters several times with their variations.

After their win against India, Shaheen had a virtual interaction with his pace-bowling colleagues Naseem and Haris. The trio were engaged in a fun conversation. The video was posted by PCB on its official Twitter account.

In the clip, Afridi can be heard saying: “Rehab is going well with weight training. I will be bowling in two weeks’ time. Six pack (abs) aaya hai little bit.”

He then went on to say: “Asia Cup jana nahi chahiye (Asia Cup shouldn’t go).”

Here’s the video:

Pakistan top contender to play in the final

With the 5-wicket win over India, Pakistan has inched closer to the final. All they have to do is to win just a game and they are most likely to seal their place in the summit clash.

They are next slated to face Afghanistan and Sri Lanka next. With the kind of form, they are in and the experience they have they can beat both teams and can play the final in Dubai on 11th September.
