“Unlucky dismissal, looked better today” – Twitter reacts after Rohit Sharma gets dismissed for 7 against RCB in IPL 2023

Mumbai Indians’ captain Rohit Sharma has been making the headlines for all the wrong reasons this season due to his woeful batting performances in the ongoing edition of the IPL.

He has been getting dismissed for cheap scores, with majority of his scores coming in the form of single digits. The MI captain registered two ducks in the previous two games against Punjab Kings and Chennai Super Kings.

Rohit Sharma came under fire for his string of poor scores this season and even the experts launched a scathing attack on his batting display. Currently, Rohit Sharma and Co are playing against Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to bowl first against RCB. Meanwhile, Faf du Plessis and Co posted a huge total of 199 for the loss of seven wickets in their quota of 20 overs. Glenn Maxwell top-scored with 68 off 33 balls whereas Faf du Plessis scored 65 off 41 balls.

In response, Rohit Sharma looked in confident touch with the bat as he got off the mark in the first ball he faced off Josh Hazlewood. He played the shot with a lot of intent as he stepped down the track and smacked the ball for a boundary over the long-on.

However, he didn’t capitalize on the start despite the fact that he looked in good touch with the bat. He was trapped for a leg before wicket off Wanindu Hasaranga’s bowling in the last ball of the fifth over.
