Indian Cricket Team have put themselves in a do-or-die situation after the loss against Pakistan in their first game of the Super 4 stage. The Rohit Sharma-led side now has to win all their games if they have to fancy their chances of qualifying for the final.
Two changes India can opt for against Sri Lanka
Team India faced a lot of criticism for their selection process after their loss against Pakistan. Many feel that their team combination wasn’t right and that was the main reason behind their 5-wicket loss.
They are next slated to face Sri Lanka on Tuesday (6th September) and it is expected that the Rohit-led side can make a couple of changes for the virtual eliminator.
India played Deepak Hooda in the game against Pakistan as a replacement for Ravindra Jadeja. But they didn’t use him to his potential as he batted at No.7 and even didn’t get to bowl. It is likely that he will be replaced for the Sri Lanka clash.
R Ashwin is expected to come in his place as the team might consider the presence of several left-handers in Sri Lanka’s team. The off-spinner also being handy with the bat could well be drafted into Indian XI for the game against the Dasun Shanaka-led side.
Avesh Khan, who missed the game against Pakistan due to illness, is also expected to come back. However, he is likely to replace one among Yuzvendra Chahal or Ravi Bishnoi.
Bishnoi did a great job against Pakistan and it is expected that he’ll retain his place whereas Chahal has been struggling to find his line length and the team can look to rest him.
